Our primary objective is to have a healthy and wealthy society in Bangladesh. WASH – Clean Water and Hygiene Program-old

We use water for everything, from washing dishes to cooking food to growing crops  Allah says in the Qur’an, ‘By means of water, we give life to everything’. (Qur’an, 21:30) Communities who don’t have access to clean water face unimaginable hardships, with women and children walking for hours to collect even a little water, and families unable to support themselves due to lack of education and livelihood. Having access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene is a basic human right, and fulfilling this right is an excellent Sadaqah Jariyah (Perpetual Charity)

‘The Prophet Muhammed (Peace and blessing be upon him) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud] BDesh Foundation’s WASH program to provide new tube wells, proper restroom facilities, and special shower facilities for women and adolescent girls with proper privacy in remote villages, Slumps, and Rohingya camps in Bangladesh.

The cost of A Deep Tube Well which is 200ft deep, including installation cost – $500

Each Deep Tube Well serves 10 families in a village and 25-50 families in a slump or Rohingya Refugee Camps.
The Cost of a Sanitation facility – $100

Serves a family in a village, and require a cluster of 5 to serve 25-50 families in a slump or Rohingya Refugee camps.

In the midst of Ramadan and preparing for Eid, a super cyclone called Amphan caused widespread damage in East India and Bangladesh in May 2020. It was the strongest tropical cyclone to strike the Ganges Delta since 2007’s Sideband the first super cyclonic storm to occur in the Bay of Bengal since 1999’s Odisha. How do you work in Bangladesh?

We have formed partnership with registered NGOs in Bangladesh who have a proven record of accomplishments. Their missions and objectives are aligned with BDesh. We verify their NGO status and legitimacy using the state department’s database.

How do you monitor your projects and ensure the money is spent on the correct causes?

We have representatives in the field to supervise BDesh sponsored projects. Also, we conduct independent audits and surveys in order to validate project execution and expenses. In addition, we have a Key Performance Indicator matrix associated with all of our projects and we strictly measure performance of our projects against the matrix.

What are your overhead expenses?

We maintain very low administrative expenses. Most of our administrative expenses are covered from donations received from our board of directors. We try our best to keep our overhead cost low. All of our board of directors and the advisors work on a volunteer basis and are not compensated for their work.
